Learn: A Global Challenge

The climate scientists say that greenhouse gas emissions have to be reduced to limit the global temperature increase by 2100 to 2 degrees Celsius. The international community agreed to this goal at the United Nations Climate Conference in Cancun/Mexico, 2010. The proposed emission value corresponds to 1 to 2 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per head, per year – compared to 4.5 tonnes today.

According to the United Nations, humanity has got a «common, but differentiated responsibility» for climate change. This means that everyone can act climate friendly within his own scope of possibilities to reduce greenhouse gases, although those possibilities vary considerably – as greenhouse gas emissions and the responsibility for climate change do. So, get active and face the challenge!
